An evening of chansons – a musical and literary journey through time in which the centuries flow into one another.

Peter Schindler’s music lends texts from the Middle Ages, the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras a topicality that takes audiences by surprise. In his compositions, with elements of jazz, pop and world music, the historical texts unfold their timeless power.

In her impassioned interpretation, the singer Sandra Hartmann brings to life every nuance of the music and the many emotional worlds of the poems.

The “ROSENZEIT Cycle” (Time of Roses) was written to mark the 200th anniversary of Eduard Mörike’s birth and was expanded in the following years with settings of Claudius, Goethe, Heine, Rückert, Schiller and Walther von der Vogelweide.

For this outstanding achievement, Peter Schindler and Sandra Hartmann were awarded the Baden-Württemberg Kleinkunstpreis in 2007 – the most highly endowed state prize for cabaret and the small-stage arts in Germany.
