At the age of eight, I already knew that I wanted to become a musician. My being successful in this profession is due to the happy coincidence of a whole range of factors. First and foremost came the love, understanding and support I received from my parents; added to that was the patience, commitment and dedication of my many capable teachers; and, last but not least, I have enjoyed the generosity of my numerous supporters. It is an artist’s work to inspire people, to move them, to comfort and console them. The calling of a musician is to touch people’s hearts with sounds and to lighten them with harmonies. This is a challenge that I happily take up every day: with every melody I compose, with every concert I give, with every musical encounter I am lucky to experience. In music I have found the purpose of all life. Viva la musica! Peter Schindler
